MELBOURNE, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - Authorities are searching for a suspect who tied up a puppy and dumped him at a major intersection in Melbourne.
The Brevard County Sheriff's Office posted a video on Tuesday night about the incident. Sheriff Wayne Ivey said that the puppy was tied up in a bed sheet and left at the intersection of Parkway Place and Wickham Road in Melbourne at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
Thankfully, the dog was spotted and rescued by a Parks and Rec employee.
Deputies are searching for the suspect, who Ivey said is driving a small black sports car. In the video, Ivey said that "anyone who would do this to an animal would certainly do this a human." He went on to say that "I want the person in our jail."
If you know who dumped the puppy, please call the Melbourne Police Department at 321-608-TIPS or the Brevard County Sheriff's Office Animal Cruelty Unit at 321-633-2024.
