Rachael Lillis, original ‘Pokémon’ English voice actor, dies at 46

Rachael Lillis, the original "Pokémon" English voice actor, died. She was 46 years old.
Lillis passed away on Aug. 10 after battling breast cancer, according to Screen Rant.
The New York native was the voice of Misty in the English-language version of the popular show, who traveled with Ash with a goal of being the world’s best Water-type Pokémon trainer. Lillis also voiced Jesse, a member of Team Rocket, the adversary in the show.

Newsweek reported that news of Lillis’ death was announced by her co-star Veronica Taylor on X, formerly Twitter.
Taylor voiced Ash and his mother Delia in the English-language dub of the "Pokémon" anime for its first eight seasons.
Lillis was best known for roles in "Pokémon," "Pokémon: The First Movie - Mewtwo Strikes Back" and "Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I - The Egg of the King, IMDb noted.

She also appeared in "Sonic X," "Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn," and "Hunter x Hunter," per Screen Rant.
Newsweek reported Lillis had breast cancer and her sister created a GoFundMe page in May to help pay the voice actor’s medical bills.
