The Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) says its HAAM Benefit Day for 2017 was a record breaking success.
The local nonprofit provides access to affordable healthcare for Austin's low income and working musicians.
Organizers say the 12th annual event held on September 12th raised $520,000 and they say the amount is still growing. In 2016, th event raised $500,000.
During HAAM Benefit Day more than 200 local businesses pledged five percent of their day's profits or made cash donations to HAAM. The public was also able to hear free live music and donate as well.
