Remembering Frank Denius

93-year-old Frank Denius was one of the most decorated WWII veterans, a big supporter of the University of Texas and also helped get the first Honor Flight Austin trip up and running.

Former Honor Flight Austin chairman Allen Bergeron and Purple Heart recipient and Army veteran Ernie Banasau talk more about Frank's life and legacy.

Denius received four Silver Stars and two Purple Hearts for his military service and was a member of the invasion of Normandy on D-Day. He enrolled in the University of Texas at Austin when he returned home after the war and received his law degree in 1949.

Denius was a long time UT booster. He gave millions to the university and the school even has practice fields named after him. Denius was a fixture at just about all of the Longhorn football games and UT says that without Denius the UT Dell Medical School would not be a reality today.

University of Texas at Austin President President Greg Fenves released a statement saying:
