AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - Emergency crews rescued a man who appeared to have gotten himself a little lost in the Travis Audobon Society's Baker Sanctuary in Leander Sunday evening.
Rescuers found the man after a brief search and escorted him out of the sanctuary for further evaluation. ATCEMS reported the male to have a medical condition and/or injuries not expected to be life-threatening.
ATCEMS tweeted that multiple units from ATCEMS, Travis County Emergency Services and the Austin Fire Department responded to a reported land rescue at 5:37 p.m. ATCEMS said initial reports were of a lost person inside a wildlife sanctuary with unknown injuries.
Emergency crews on scene began an initial hasty search at 6:06 p.m., meaning that small teams are searching the most likely spots the person might be.
The Texas Department of Safety also assigned a helicopter to provide air search assistance in coordination with the ground search, ATCEMS said.
