Roadways reopen, area declared safe after explosion at aerospace facility in Briggs
BRIGGS, Texas - The roadways have reopened and the area has been declared safe after an explosion at an aerospace facility in Briggs, says the Burnet County Sheriff's Office.
BCSO says just before 6:30 p.m., an explosion occurred at the Firefly Aerospace facility near US 183.
Oakalla VFD requested BCSO's assistance to shut down traffic on nearby roadways, activate reverse 911 and start evacuations within a one-mile radius of the facility.
As a result, US 183 and nearby county roads were closed in the Briggs area.
