Whether you’re a fan of the maple or the classic glazed, there’s one spot that has won the hearts of locals and visitors alike: Round Rock Donuts.

"We come here plenty. Every time we get a chance somewhere in the area, we stop by and get donuts. They come out hot and they're delicious," said regular donut goer, Cody McGuire.

Since 1926, people have been stopping in to try the famous orange donut.

"We've been here for almost a hundred years. Next year, we serve hot-glazed donuts all day long. Everybody around here comes, and we have a lot of regulars and a lot of visitors, so it's just a great place to be," said Guderyahn.

As for what gives it its color: "We've always had, like, a really, really rich egg that we've used. And it's kind of natural, given that color. And, you know, a lot of people talk about it being sweet potato flour and other things like that, but it was from the eggs," said Guderyahn.

But the excitement doesn’t stop at the color. Round Rock Donuts has officially earned a spot in the global spotlight.

The donut shop has just been named one of the top 100 most legendary dessert places in the world by TasteAtlas—a prestigious online food encyclopedia known for its curated list of the finest local dishes, ingredients, and authentic eateries across the globe.

Round Rock Donuts came in strong at number 21 overall and was number 4 out of the U.S. businesses that made the list.

"I'm just very thankful and thankful for the community that we have here. I'm thankful for everybody who comes and travels, and I'm just thankful for our team that we have here. We have like the greatest team that I've ever seen anywhere. So, I'm just very thankful for everybody who's made that possible. It's just shocking to us," said Guderyahn.

It's also the only Texas spot on the list in the top 100.

For Guderyahn it's a testament to the people on his team and the community they’ve built.

"We have plenty of other regulars that come once a week and people that come once a year that I always remember. And it's pretty, it's pretty amazing," said Guderyahn.

Some were shocked to hear the good news. "I'm very, very surprised," said 8-year-old, Evan McGuire.

While others think it’s been a long time coming.

"I think it's definitely due. But at the same time, congratulations to them. It's an awesome, awesome award to receive," said Evan’s dad Cody McGuire.
