Safety on 6th Street in downtown Austin: Police provide update
AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Police Department talks about safety on 6th Street in downtown Austin after the terror attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.
The news conference comes about a month after it was revealed that APD and several departments were looking at the option of opening 6th Street to cars.
Officials said the option was being looked at in an effort to crack down on crime.
No timeline was given for when changes would start if the decision was made to move forward, but some business owners and others did not like the idea.
