AUSTIN, Texas - It's been three months since Barton Springs Pool has been open to the public but that all changed this week after it officially began allowing guests back in with several new changes.
One of the biggest? Guests are required to make a reservation to secure a two-hour time slot to enjoy the pool.
Guests who went to Barton Springs Pool over the weekend said they were ecstatic it was open again so they could escape the hot temperatures even if the experience isn't the same as what they're used to having.
Austinites Kim and Ronnie Vorndran say going to Barton Springs Pool is a summer tradition but admit this time things were definitely "different" like having to wear a mask.

"They do require a mask when you come in. Obviously you don't have to have it while you're swimming but when you are walking around, you need to have a mask on," the Vorndrans say.
The pool is allowing a limit of 450 people per two-hour slot. Staff is also asking each guest a series of questions related to COVID-19 as well as taking temperatures.

Signs are posted all around to let guests know about the new safety measures.
The Vorndrans say they don't mind the changes. They say they're just happy to be able to be out and enjoy the pool again.
Barton Springs Pool is closed Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. There's no admission being charged during the modified operations.
