San Marcos man arrested for bringing gun to UT Austin protest
AUSTIN, Texas - A San Marcos man faces a felony charge for carrying a gun during a pro-Palestine demonstration at UT Austin.
Michael Maule, 26, was one of the nearly 80 protesters arrested for trespassing during the protest on April 29.
Austin police said they spotted two protesters who had guns. Both were detained for the safety of the rest of the crowd.
Officers found a pocketknife, a loaded handgun and three magazines.
