San Marcos PD seeking public's help in investigating series of break ins

The San Marcos Police Department is seeking the public's help in investigating a series of break-ins at two apartment complexes on Old Ranch Road 12 Sunday morning.

On April 21 at approximately 6:42 am, a resident at the Dakota Ranch Apartments in the 1800 block of Old Ranch Road 12 woke up to an unknown male in her bedroom on her bed grabbing the victim’s breast. The suspect fled when the victim yelled for help. An investigation revealed that the suspect had entered the apartment by the second story balcony.

The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic male in his early 20s with an average build and dark brown or black hair and approximately 5'3" to 5'5". He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and a green letterman-style jacket and was reportedly covering his face with a bandana or his shirt.

Two other incidents bein investigated include a burglary at The Edge Apartments in the 1700 block of Old Ranch Road 12 at approximately 6:06 a.m., and another resident at the Dakota Ranch Apartments whose locks had been tampered with.

San Marcos PD also requests all residents with personally-owned video surveillance systems to review their recordings during the time frame and contact SMPD if they locate any recordings pertinent to this investigation.
