SCAM ALERT: City of Buda reports fraudulent city job listings on Indeed

BUDA, Texas - The City of Buda is warning citizens about a scam involving someone posting fake city job openings.

The city says a recent post went up on Indeed advertising for a front desk receptionist position, asking applicants to send a cover letter and resume to HRBuda@outlook.com. The post, which the city says is not legitimate, has been taken down by Indeed.

The city says legitimate job postings should always link back to the City's website and any email coming from the city will have the extension @ci.buda.tx.us.

All official city job openings are posted on the City's website.

The city says they will not ask for an applicant's date of birth, social security number or other personal identifying information on a job application.
