Schools in Austin area cancel after-school activities due to severe weather

Due to the severe weather headed to Central Texas Friday, several school districts are canceling activities.

The following school districts have canceled after-school activities for Friday. Jan. 10.

  • Round Rock ISD
  • Leander ISD
  • Pflugerville ISD
  • Lake Travis ISD
  • Bastrop ISD
  • Marble Falls ISD
  • Burnet ISD - According to the district's website, freshman and JV boys basketball in Boerne have been canceled and varsity boys only will play at 5 p.m. Varsity girls soccer at Austin McCallum has been canceled. Varsity and JV boys soccer games vs. Canyon Lake have been canceled.
  • Del Valle ISD - According to the district's website, all after-school activities have been canceled, including tutoring, LEAD, athletic practices and games, and Extend-A-Care. Parents are being asked to pick up students as soon as possible and Extend-A-Care is asking for all students to be picked up by 4 p.m.
  • Eanes ISD
  • Dripping Springs ISD- According to the district's website, after-school care at the four elementary school campuses will remain open for normal operating hours, but parents are requested to pick up their students as early as they are able so staff can be released once the last child has left
  • Hutto ISD
  • Manor ISD
