Search for sexual assault suspect in San Marcos

SAN MARCOS, Texas - **UPDATE 8/12/22: Since this story was originally published in May 2019, FOX 7 Austin has learned that the U.S. Department of Justice has dismissed the charges against Keith Louis.**

An arrest warrant has been issued for 27-year-old Keith Vallen Louis III, according to the San Marcos Police Department.

Louis is wanted for an incident that happened at the Edge Apartments in the 1700 block of Ranch Road 12. This is the incident that resulted in the visible police activity in the area of North LBJ Drive and Craddock Street Thursday evening, according to police.

Police cannot confirm at this time that Mr. Louis has any involvement in the other recent sexual assault cases. The San Marcos Police Department was also searching for a person who broke into a home and sexually assaulted someone at The Retreat, an apartment complex. The city tweeted about how it was similar to the sexual assault just last week at the Cottage Apartments.
