CIBOLO, Texas - Several thousand avocados littered the highway after two truck tractor-semi trailers crashed near Cibolo, Texas.
Cibolo is located between New Braunfels and San Antonio. The crash happened at around 12:41 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-10 at mile marker 599.
The Cibolo Police Department says a box trailer full of avocados overturned after the crash and caused the cargo box to tear open.
Officials say the second big rig was a tanker that remained upright. Traffic was diverted, and the lanes of eastbound I-10 were closed.
Close to 12 hours later, crews were still cleaning the roadway.
The roadway did not reopen until just after 1 p.m. The Cibolo Police Department announced the reopening on Twitter with the hashtag #guacinpeace.
Cibolo PD says two people, including the avocado truck driver, were transported by EMS in stable condition. A third vehicle, a passenger van, was also involved and driven from the scene.
