Police investigating West Austin shooting

Austin police are searching for the suspect of a shooting at the Westlake Apartments in West Austin that left one man dead.

The Austin Police Department (APD) identified the man killed at a West Austin apartment complex on July 15.

Police said around 6:40 a.m., officers, ATCEMS and AFD responded to a shooting in the 3500 block of Capital of Texas Highway. 

Officers found a man, 45-year-old Jarod Mason, with gunshot wounds. He later died at the scene.

CRIME IN AUSTIN

Investigators determined that Mason was shot in the parking lot before multiple suspects left the scene in a vehicle.
