APD investigating homicide at Habitat Suites
Police officers say one person was killed in a shootout at Habitat Suites on East Highland Mall Boulevard,
AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Police Department is investigating a homicide that happened in North Austin. There are no suspects in custody at this time.
According to police, dispatch started to receive calls about shots fired around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 29. Officers were dispatched to the Habitat Suites at 500 East Highland Mall Boulevard.

While officers were on scene, they learned that two different groups of people who were partying at the all-suite complex got into a shootout.
One male showed up at Dell Seton Medical Center with injuries following the shooting, he died at the hospital. Police have also made contact with a woman who was shot in the leg, her injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.
