AUSTIN, Texas - The 30th annual Souper Bowl of Caring kicks off as the community comes together to tackle hunger.
Since 1990 the event has been empowering youth and communities to use the energy of the big game (which will be airing on FOX 7 on February 2) to help those in need.
The campaign kicked off at Gorzycki Middle School which included a proclamation from Austin Mayor Pro Tem Delia Garza.
This year's goal is to raise more than $1.5 million in food and funds for local hunger-relief charities including the Central Texas Food Bank and its partner agencies.
