Study: Women perceive bearded men as better long-term partners

NEW YORK (FOX5NY.COM) - When it comes to men and their facial hair, to shave or not to shave—is the question. But maybe guys should consider who they're asking. Women prefer a beard or stubble over a more clean-shaven look, at least according to one study.

Women rated men with facial hair as better long-term partners, according to a research paper published in the Journal of Evolutionary Biology.

But why do men like having beards? Some answers we got: "I'm just lazy, I don't like to shave" and "I haven't had the time to shave."

The study also said beards are associated with older, more masculine men.
