A woman in Manor, Texas says she was punched and cursed at by a man wearing a police uniform on Saturday morning.
Sheila Mason says she was driving on Highway 290 when she was pulled over by a person she believed to be an officer. Mason says the man was wearing a uniform and the car was black and white with an overhead light bar. She says the man told her she had a broken taillight.
In response, Mason told the man her lights were working fine, which is when the man reportedly said "stop being a smart ass" and punched her in the face. Mason says he then told her to "get the f**k out of here."
The Manor Police Department says a formal citizen complainant was turned in and the preliminary investigation shows that no Manor officers conducted traffic stops in the area at the reported time. Police believe the man who Mason says pulled her over was someone impersonating a police officer.
The investigation is still ongoing.
