LEANDER, Texas - A SWAT standoff in Leander has ended peacefully.
The Leander Police Department says at around 8:57 p.m. on October 21 officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1300 block of Waterfall Avenue west of Bagdad Road which is near Bagdad Elementary.
Officers arrived and made brief contact with a man who then went immediately back into his home. Police say two shots were fired inside the home.

The Central Texas Regional SWAT was called at around 9:07 p.m. and residents in the area were notified via reverse 911 to shelter in place.
Negotiators were able to make contact with the man by phone and they said the man was not cooperative.
At around 2:38 a.m. on October 22, officials say another shot was heard from inside the home. Negotiators made contact and the SWAT team used gas inside the home and the man came out.

The man was taken into custody at around 4:35 a.m. He has been identified as 39-year-old Ty Curiel.
No one else was inside the home which police say was Curiel's home. There were no reports of any injuries.
Curiel was arrested for possession of a control substance and disorderly conduct - discharging a firearm. He was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
