Teen arrested in Austin for burglarizing several cars in Lockhart: police
LOCKHART, Texas - A teen was arrested in Austin after police said he was involved in several vehicle burglaries in Lockhart.
Lockhart police said the 13-year-old suspect was arrested for his role in more than a dozen vehicle burglaries in the Summerside subdivision, between U.S. 183 and FM 1322 in Lockhart.
After receiving several reports from residents, officers collected surveillance video footage. With the evidence, Lockhart police built a strong case against the teen.

"This investigation is an example of how valuable it is for our police department to build relationships with residents," said Lockhart Police Chief Gary Williamson. "We appreciate residents providing not only valuable information, but also video that proved to be essential in this investigation."
The teen was arrested in Austin after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
He is charged with engaging in organized criminal activity, and more charges are pending.
