Texas Border Patrol intercepts human smuggling attempt in Laredo

LAREDO, Texas - Early Tuesday morning, the Laredo Sector of the U.S. Border Patrol intercepted a human smuggling attempt during a traffic stop.

What we know:
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials say just before 6:30 a.m., agents found 10 people who were in the country illegally in a pickup truck during a traffic stop.
The Dodge Ram was stopped at the 31-mile marker on the west access road of I-35.
All 10 people inside the vehicle were removed.
The investigation revealed all 10 were in the country illegally from Mexico and Guatemala.
All were processed according to their individual immigration status.
Officials say the pickup was reported stolen and was turned over to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
What we don't know:
Officials have not released information about where the pickup was stolen from.
Information about the 10 people inside the pickup has also not been released.
