Texas Governor Abbott to hold video conference with Texas hospitals

Texas Governor Greg Abbott is hosting a video conference with Texas hospitals. 

Governor Abbott is expected to hold the video conference at 11 a.m. at the State Operations Centers in Austin.

Yesterday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott held a joint press conference with the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) in San Antonio. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said Monday that there are nearly 60 cases in the state but told the public to brace for those numbers to skyrocket as testing expands.

Dallas officials prohibited community gatherings of more than 50 people and ordered gyms and theaters shut for seven days.

In Houston, restaurants will be limited to takeout for 15 days.

Austin Mayor Steve Adler posted to social media that he has been watching what other cities have been doing in response and that he's "been on the record in favor" of closing restaurants and bars. He says he and Travis County Judge Sarah Eckhardt will make an announcement at 11 a.m.
