The Alamo to install temporary fencing amid protests

The Alamo, a historic Texas site, will install temporary fencing today in response to recent events.

The Alamo consulted with the San Antonio Police Department and it was determined that the fencing will secure the Alamo and will remain in place as long "events indicate it is needed."

The fencing itself will be made of a four-foot-tall chain-link fence mounted on top of water-filled plastic barriers that will be placed on the sidewalk of the western edge of the plaza. The fencing will run from the intersection of Alamo and Crockett Street to the intersection of Alamo and Houston Street.

According to the Alamo, a second section will run along the northern edge of the plaza from Alamo and Houston streets to the Long Barrack. Fifteen-foot wide access points will be available for pedestrians on both Alamo and Houston streets.
