Three arrested in East Austin sex sting operation, men targeting minors

According to affidavits obtained by FOX 7 Austin, three men have been arrested in a sex sting operation over the weekend.

Over a two day period, the Texas Department of Publis Safety's Criminal Investigations Division lead a sting operation that captured three individuals who were attempting to purchase sex with juvenile males or females.

According to the affidavits, agents utilized an online profile to pose as minors on the internet. The agents provided a phone number within the profile that allowed the men to contact the undercover agents.

After communicating via text, the men would agree to meet up with an undercover agent at a designated hotel. When each man entered the hotel and approached the target room, undercover agents would make contact and arrest them.

On December 12, authorities arrested Francisco Anzures and James Grubbs.

Gregory Steinberg was arrested on December 13.

All three men were charged with "Prostitution/Other Pay or Solicit Person under 18-years-old," a second-degree felony.
