"Toll-free Texas" day takes over State Capitol
AUSTIN, Texas - It's "Toll-free Texas" day at the State Capitol.
Texans who took part in Monday's rally want not only more highway funding from Texas legislators but also reforms on toll road policy.
They'd like to see taking tolls off of roads when the road has been paid for. They also want to restrict the state highway fund to non-toll roads only.
State Representative Scott Stanford is behind the move, and he as well as Representative Matt Shaheen and Representative Jeff Leach all filled several bills they've dubbed "Toll-free Texas."
