APD looking for truck involved in hit-and-run, injuring bicyclist
AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Police Department is looking for a pickup truck they say struck a bicyclist and left the scene in eastern Travis County in early October.
APD says officers, EMS and fire units responded to a crash around 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 7 in the 1800 block of Springdale Road, just south of E. Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard.
The preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a red Chevrolet Avalanche pickup struck the bicyclist, then left the scene without rendering aid. The bicyclist had severe bodily injuries.
