Austin Fire battles two-alarm fire
A two-alarm fire was extinguished Monday afternoon. The cause of the fire is being investigated
AUSTIN, Texas - Two people, including a firefighter, were injured in a two-alarm fire near the Travis County Expo Center in East Austin.
Austin Fire said crews responded to the fire in the 6800 block of Wentworth Drive just before 3 p.m. on July 17, after a trash fire had extended to the exterior of the home.
Within half an hour, the fire was upgraded to a two-alarm fire. Responding firefighters could see the blaze in the attic of the two-story four-plex.
Firefighters had the flames under control around 3:40 p.m. A civilian and a firefighter had minor injuries, Austin Fire said.
A total of 35 people have been displaced.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
