Two people have been hospitalized after a house fire in East Austin.

The fire started at a home located in the 1200 block of Greenwood Avenue and was first reported at around 2 a.m.

Fire crews arrived and were able to get the fire out nearly 15 minutes after it was first reported.

Firefighters searched the home to make sure those that were living there were accounted for and they found two people inside. Austin police helped pull out one person.

The fire was contained to just one home and officials say at least half the house is considered a total loss.

The current conditions of the two people hospitalized are not known at this time but officials have identified the two as both men in their 70s and say their injuries were minor due to smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
