TxDOT reassures customers toll refunds are on the way
AUSTIN, Texas - If you got stuck with an incorrect bill for driving on a local toll road, the check is in the mail. That's the message from TxDOT.
The agency continues to work on correcting the long running problem that dates back to last year.
Agency head Joe Webber told FOX 7 that refund checks started going out today.
They are being sent to about 31,000 customers who have TX-tags but were charged at the higher "pay by mail" rate.
It's estimated as much as $1.7 million in refunds may go out and according to Webber the number of people with incorrect or late bills could go higher.
