BERNARDS TOWNSHIP, N.J. (FOX5NY.COM) - Police are trying to catch the people responsible for a series of potentially dangerous incidents involving fireworks in Somerset County.
Bernards Township police released security camera video that shows two men set off fireworks at a house on Elizabeth Street at about 1 a.m. Friday, November 23.
The video shows two men walk onto a porch, speak to each other, knock on the door, ignite and drop fireworks, and then run away. The fireworks explode in bright flashes and loud bangs.
Police are asking anyone who recognizes the men to contact either Crime Stoppers at 888-577-8477 or Detective Sgt. Mike Sweeney at 908-766-1122, extension 610.
Authorities said similar incidents have happened in the area.
"We also request that the actors come forward and turn themselves into authorities before someone is seriously hurt or property is damaged," police said in a Facebook post.
