Vigil being held for Caldwell County double-murder victims

A prayer vigil for the families of two victims who were shot to death in Caldwell County is being held on Sunday. 

The vigil will be held at Longer Park from 6 p.m to 7 p.m. and will open with a prayer from a local pastor followed by words from S.E.C.C.V.F.D Chief Jack Musick along with family members of the deceased. The vigil will end with a closing prayer from an area pastor.

"Luling along with Caldwell and surrounding counties would like to honor and give our support to the Family's in prayer," a Facebook post for the vigil states. According to the post, the two victims were cousins. 

On June 8, 18-year-old Klayton Wade Manning and 16-year-old Landin Robinson Dawson were found shot to death in an unincorporated area of the county southeast of Lockhart by the Caldwell County Sherriff's Office.

On June 11, deputies arrested a suspect in the case, 34-year-old Bryan Hanes at a home in Bastrop County. Haynes is currently being held at the Caldwell County jail with a $500,000 bond.
