Suspect gets stuck in chimney while running from police

Video from officers' body-worn cameras shows them crawling across rooftops to find this not-so-smart suspect stuck in a chimney.

A suspect who tried to hide in a chimney while evading police found himself having to be chiseled out of it just weeks before Santa arrives.

Video from officers’ body-worn cameras shows detectives in Fall River, Massachusetts, serving a search warrant on Dec. 10 when two men ran from police by jumping onto the home’s roof.

One of the suspects evaded capture by jumping from the roof onto a parked car, police said. The other, 33-year-old Robert Langlais, jumped into a chimney and quickly got stuck.

"You’re an idiot," police can be heard saying as they call for assistance.

A local fire crew had to remove bricks from the chimney to get Langlais out.

"Due to his Santa-antics, Langlais was transported to a local hospital out of precaution and was medically cleared," police said.

He was arrested for possession of drugs and several other charges from outstanding warrants.
