Woman arrested for hitting disabled vet with aluminum bat, pulling gun on him

A woman was arrested in Elgin for hitting a disabled veteran with an aluminum bat and pulling a gun on him. The victim said his girlfriend of fourteen years had been hitting him on and off with the bat since Tuesday, February 4. 

57-year-old Sheila Green has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony. 

According to the Travis County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the couple's home in the 18000 block of Majestic Elm Lane in Elgin shortly before 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 6 after the victim said he had been hit with an aluminum baseball bat several times. The victim is a disabled veteran on Medicare / Medicaid, according to TCSO.

When deputies arrived on scene, they observed defensive abrasions on his knees and elbows. There was also swelling on his left forearm and bruising / redness to his elbows, knees, back of shins, and the back of his neck. The victim told deputies he was experiencing pain in his abdomen, shoulders, and head. 

Fresh blood was also observed in the dining room, hallway, and the victim's bedroom. 

Deputies also learned during their investigation that Sheila Green had pulled a SCCY 9mm semi-auto pistol on the victim after he had tried to take the bat away from her and barricaded himself in his room.

Sheila Green was arrested and brought to the Travis County Jail. Her bond has been set at $35,000.
