Woman fixing bicycle struck and killed in North Austin
AUSTIN, Texas - A woman fixing a mechanical issue on her bike was struck and killed by a truck early Monday morning.
At approximately 2:30 a.m., Merry Daye was fixing her bike in the designated bike lane at the 6000 block of Cameron Road when a 2014 Dodge Ram truck hit her.
Daye was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas where she was pronounced dead. The official cause of death is still pending according to police.
APD was able to locate the truck that was believed to be involved in the incident. It was unoccupied and is currently being process for evidence.
