Man arrested for murder of 22-year-old woman in South Austin road rage incident

AUSTIN, Texas - A 21-year-old man was arrested for murder following a deadly road rage incident in South Austin, police said.
Austin police said on Jan. 23, Manolo Gonzalez was found by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in Kyle, and was later booked into the Travis County Jail. He was arrested for first-degree murder.

Gonzalez admitted to police the victim, 22-year-old Elizabeth Lopez, was a stranger to him, and this was a case of road rage.
His bond has been set at $1 million.

Mother of 22-year-old shot, killed in South Austin speaks out
Police said a 22-year-old woman, who was shot to death in South Austin last Friday night, was likely the victim of road rage.
Police said the incident happened on Jan. 6, shortly after 8:30 p.m. Officers were called to E Stassney Lane between South Congress and I-35.
When officers arrived, they found a wrecked car with Lopez inside with gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene minutes later.
