Day 2 of preseason camp for UT football
AUSTIN, Texas - Preseason camp for the University of Texas Longhorns football team continues and it won't be long before the first game of the 2018 season against Maryland.
There's a lot of preparation between now and then but the preparation already seems to be a bit easier than last season.
That's what happens you have continuity in the coaching staff for the first time in a few years. This year's Longhorns are seeing the same coaching faces as they saw the year before, especially on offense, and they're already feeling the advantages of that just a couple days into preseason camp.
Tight end Andrew Beck says, "Even with the new guys coming in it fells like practice 16 or 17 instead of practice one or two. We really kind of picked up where we left off coming out of the spring in every facet of the game which I'm sure the coaches are excited to see. I know we're excited to see. It's nice not learning a new offense going into the season."
Defensive lineman Breckyn Hager says, "This fall camp I believe we're a lot closer. And there are a lot more old guys and a lot more depth I mean it's just like a second year under an awesome defense. And the innovation is there so it's...the learning curve is gone."
