8-year-old Longhorns fan wins tickets to CFP game
AUSTIN - Longhorn fans are excited for the Texas football game against Clemson on Saturday. One 8-year-old said he’s all in.
"If he gets a touchdown, I scream at the top of my lungs and I’m so happy," Liam Ransom said.
Liam is talking about Texas football player Isaiah Bond.
"He is a really good wide receiver and he also gets touchdowns when people are trying to cover him," Liam said.
"He might be the biggest Isaiah Bond fan," Liam’s father, Mason Flynt said. "He has an Isaiah Bond jersey. It’s really hard to get him to take it off. He tries to wear it to school three times a week easily. We have to fight every morning to get him to wear something different."
"I’ve got to wash that jersey at least every three days. He lives in it," Liam’s mother, Alyssia Ransom, said.
Liam has been to dozens of UT football games with his dad.
"I just, you know, started taking him to the games when he was young, and it just blossomed into him loving it, it’s his sports team," Flynt said.
"Do you have a favorite game that you’ve been to?" FOX 7 reporter Meredith Aldis asked Liam.
"Colorado State game," Liam said.
"And why is that?" Aldis asked.
"Because it’s the part where Isaiah Bond gets a touchdown, where he fixes his helmet," Liam responded.
Liam is hoping to see more of those touchdowns during the playoffs. The first round is against Clemson on Saturday afternoon. It’s a game Liam and his father didn’t have tickets to go to until his dad entered him into a contest. Personal Injury Attorney Adam Loewy gifted two tickets to Liam and Flynt.
Liam is now excited to see the Longhorns at DKR.
Liam has a message to the team: "Keep doing your hard work Texas and don’t stop no matter what, if you lose, that’s okay, because you know you are a really great team and people support you, a bunch of people support you including me and your team."
FOX 7 talked with Isaiah Bond Friday night at the Raising Canes bike giveaway and asked him what it means to be a role model. He said he had some of his own growing up and said it’s a great feeling to be in this position.
