No baseball at Dell Diamond but you bring a part of the ballpark at home

The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic has completely shut down all major sports but that's not to say that sports venues are closed. Such is the case for some of the Round Rock Express staff which is putting the Dell Diamond to good use.

Usually the Dell Diamond is packed at this time of year but with the season postponed you won't be seeing any fans in the seats or lines at the concession stands.

The Express has found a way though to let you bring a little bit of the ballpark home.

Jeremy Zimmerman, General Manager of RS3 Strategic Hospitality with the Round Rock Express, says, "It's important to give back to the community. They support us and when we get back to baseball and this thing passes, and it will pass, we'll be here."

Round Rock Express General Manager Tim Jackson says, "We've got lot of inventory that we've been sitting on, we're prepared to feed thousands of people, but we're not able to that there at the ballpark so we're trying to find unique ways that we can do that."

So the Express is selling Family Meal Kits and your baseball favorite foods from its Bullpen Bar through curbside pickup.

Zimmerman says you can get hot dogs, sausages, burgers, fajitas, grilled chicken and housemade chips.

"You can come pick up a lot of the essentials you need that are maybe lacking at local grocery stores but also take care of your meal prep for the week," Jackson says.

Zimmerman says it's a good way to keep baseball and the baseball menu on top of people's minds.

"We're a one-stop shop here. Stop in and get what you need, go to the house and you never have to leave for the week," Zimmerman says.
