AUSTIN, Texas - Every two years, some Texas high schools change classification due to enrollment numbers and as usual there are some big movers this year.
Todd Dodge and Hank Carter were among the army of high school football coaches at UIL's realignment day.
Some local notables: Hutto is up from 5A to 6A, Liberty Hill moves from 4A to 5A and LBJ moves down from 5A to 4A Division I.
"We're gonna have to build our locker room and our numbers. We only made it into 6A, of course, by 20 something kids. We know when we get to the 6A level. The depth can become an issue. If you haven't built that," Hutto head football coach Brad LaPlante says.
Liberty Hill head coach Jefferson Walker says, "People have said a long time that you know, this offense can't work in the bigger classifications. We have a point to prove. We'll go out there and show them that you can run the slot-T in any classification, and be successful."
Other notables: Hendrickson moves down from 6A to 5A which means that all schools in Pflugerville ISD are now 5A.
Anderson and Lehman also move down to 5A.
