AmeriCorps finds Americans continue to help their neighbors despite dip in formal volunteering

For the first time since they started collecting data, AmeriCorps found fewer Americans are volunteering with a nonprofit on a regular basis, but they say the number of Americans helping their neighbors through informal volunteering is steady and strong.
