Pecan Creek at SH 29 West
Llano Police Department via Storyful Areas recently struck by deadly flooding experienced road closures and renewed weather warnings as heavy rain hit central Texas on Sunday morning, July 13. The National Weather Service (NWS) warned areas near the Lampasas River of potential flooding after the river rose 33 feet in just 4 hours. As much as 6 inches of rain had fallen across Lampasas County as of 3:15 am, the NWS said, with more showers and storms developing during the late morning. Footage released by the Llano Police Department shows a roaring Pecan Creek, seen from Texas State Highway 29 West, on Sunday.
