Austin weather: Storms followed by sunshine

Central Texas is dealing with severe weather today, but the next week is looking to be mostly sunny with highs in the 90s. Scott Fisher explains in his full forecast.

A severe thunderstorm watch was issued for most of Central Texas until 5 p.m. Thursday.

The National Weather Service has issued the following alerts:

  • A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for San Saba and Mason counties until 11 p.m.
  • A flood warning has been issued for Lampasas County until 8:26 a.m. on Friday, May 17.
  • A flood warning has been issued for Bell County from 11:55 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, until 5:35 p.m. on Friday, May 17.
  • A flood warning has been issued for Milam County from 7 p.m. on Friday, May 17, until 11:55 p.m. on Saturday, May 18.

Conditions are favorable for hail, damaging winds, lightning and heavy rain.
