Austin weather: Winter Weather Advisory for some areas
AUSTIN, Texas - There's little change in the forecast as most of the weather models are trending wetter and not too icy.
This will only be a Level 1 Winter Weather threat out of 5.
Snow in Austin?
Hill Country is under a Winter Weather Advisory until 6 a.m.
Chances are very low when talking ice and snow.
There is a slight chance of sleet and snow in the Hill Country tonight but it won't be cold enough for issues on the roads.
We will get 1 to 2" of rain with 6 to 10 straight hours of rain possible.
What to expect
Cold rain from now to midnight on Friday and then some sleet and snow west of Austin between midnight and 3 a.m. Friday.
Thursday afternoon commute should have wet conditions and ponding on roads. Drying out by Friday morning.
Cotton Bowl travel conditions and forecast
Travel is not advised to North Texas today.
People headed to the game should wait until Friday where the conditions will be drier and warmer.
