Heavy rainfall, flash flooding in parts of Central Texas

It's been awhile since we've had storms roll through our area like they did yesterday. Zack Shields has details on that and how long the rain will stick around in his full forecast.

A Flash Flood Watch that had been issued until 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 24 has been canceled by the National Weather Service.

Officials say locally heavy rainfall is still possible but not as widespread as previously anticipated.

The flooding threat is slowly decreasing and while still possible, any flooding is expected to be more isolated in nature and localized in low-lying areas.

Creeks, roadways flooded as storms roll through Central Texas

Much of the area remains under a Flood Watch. FOX 7 Austin's Kelly Saberi has more details.

Still expecting to have widely scattered showers and a few storms today with highs staying in the mid to upper 80s.

With the moisture, upper low, and stalled front nearby rain will remain in the forecast but the chances will slowly go down as we near the weekend.

Another half to one inch of rain is possible in the next five days.

Is it really late August? It doesn't feel like it or look like it. Definitely not complaining after the very long, dry, and hot summer we just had.
