APD SWAT standoff in East Austin ends after ten hours

AUSTIN, Texas - After ten hours, a SWAT standoff in East Austin is finally over.

The SWAT team was dispatched to the 5800 block of Techni Center Drive around 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 29. The incident stemmed from a domestic dispute at Fort Branch at Truman’s Landing, an apartment complex in East Austin, according to police.

The suspect had barricaded himself inside an apartment at Fort Branch at Truman’s Landing and was possibly armed, according to police. Around 2 a.m. Monday morning, officers were able to enter the apartment but the suspect wasn't there.

The police have not identified the suspect at this time but he is believed to have past felony warrants. 

He is still at large.
