Austin police searching for suspect in East Austin stabbing

AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Police Department is searching for a suspect in a stabbing in East Austin.

The incident occurred in the 1000 block of Springdale Road Friday night.

APD reported a helicopter is assisting in the search.

ATCEMS medics declared a woman in her 20s a trauma alert and transported her from the scene to a local trauma facility with serious, but not expected to be life-threatening injuries.

EMS says they are no longer on the scene.
