More information and details are being released about what led to the arrest of AISD Burnet Middle School principal David Dean for online solicitation of a minor.

Court documents show that Dean was exchanging text messages with an 11-year-old relative and that the relative's mother felt the messages were inappropriate.

The texting began, according to the documents, because the 11-year-old was allowed to text Dean to invite him to a "gender revealing" party for the 11-year-old's mother, who is pregnant.

Documents state that the texting continued for a short period after that initial text and the 11-year-old eventually became alarmed at what was being said in them. The 11-year-old alerted her mother who told Dean not to attend the party and who also later alerted authorities.

This story continues to develop and it will be updated as more information becomes available.

According to the Austin ISD Police Department, Burnet Middle School principal David Dean has been arrested and charged with online solicitation of a minor.

Dean's bond was set at $70,000.

Officials said they have no reason to believe any AISD students are involved.

Burnet Middle School officials plan on hosting a meeting Tuesday night to discuss campus leadership. The meeting will be held in the school cafeteria at 6:00 P.M.

AISD Superintendent Paul Cruz sent the following letter to parents:

This is a developing story and we will have more information as it becomes available.
