Del Valle pregnant woman, daughter died in murder-suicide, Travis County Sheriff's Office says

The death of a Del Valle pregnant mother and toddler in June has been ruled a murder-suicide, says the Travis County Sheriff's Office.

On June 4, TCSO deputies responded to an assist EMS call on Hurst Creek Road in Lakeway where they found 36-year-old Monika Vetters and her two-year-old daughter Veronica lying on the ground with grave injuries.

CPR was started on the scene and both were transported to separate hospitals but efforts to resuscitate them were unsuccessful and they were later pronounced dead.

According to TCSO, Vetters was pregnant and her unborn child did not survive.

TCSO says detectives conducted a thorough investigation to determine if Vetters and her daughter fell from a third-floor balcony where they were last seen, or if the incident was intentional.
